HOSA Hotdog Fundraiser

Maddie Mabe and Halie Hulin

The upcoming hotdog fundraiser is to raise money for the competition that the HOSA team will be attending in April. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now for $5 or you can get them at the door for $7. One ticket includes two hotdogs, chips, dessert, and a drink. You can use your ticket on Tuesday, January 14th at the home basketball game against South Davidson located at the Central Gym.

You might be wondering, “What is HOSA?” HOSA is a student organization specifically dedicated to preparing students for careers in health science. The UCA HOSA team has competed in one competition so far. Some events they’ve participated in are CPR, first aid, biomedical debate, medical terminology, and medical reading.

The Nest staffers, Maddie Mabe and Halie Hulin interviewed HOSA vice president Keri Massie. When asked why she joined HOSA she said, “I think HOSA is awesome if you want to be in health care. It is a great way to get a start and it’s a way to show how you work with different people and equipment. All of these things interested me so I decided to join HOSA.”.
