Positivity in the World

Although it feels like the world is in one of its darkest times right now, not everything happening is bad. There are plenty of good things happening worldwide. We just have to shift our perspectives to see them.

The number of adopted pets is significantly rising due to the absence of company humans usually have. People need companionship during this time and it greatly benefits animals in need of homes. And what better time to adopt a puppy and be able to give it all of your attention everyday?

Businesses are finding new ways to improve while they are temporarily closed. Shops are establishing a delivery system, restaurants adding new things to their menus, and social media accounts are being perfected.

Good Morning America started the hashtag #LightsforLife. This challenge encourages people to bring their Christmas lights back out and feel a little holiday cheer we left in 2019. The Hallmark Channel also had a weekend of cheer last week. The channel played their favorite holiday movies all weekend long.

Although Disneyland was forced to close due to risks of the virus, they have donated their surplus of park themed snacks and treats to Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County, California.

Zoos across the world are livestreaming their animals daily lives in hopes to bring a smile to people’s faces during this time. At Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium, staff recorded footage of their penguins walking around the establishment and exploring.

There is so much more happiness in the world and all you have to do is look for it. During this time, challenge yourself to make a difference and spread positivity. You never know how far it can go.
