The annual 47th Asheboro Fall Festival will be held in downtown Asheboro this weekend. Folks can kick off the Fall Festival at Bicentennial Park with a concert from 7-9 pm this Friday, October 4th. The festival welcomes guests from 10 am-6 pm on Saturday, October 5th and 12 pm- 6 pm on Sunday, October 6th. All ages are welcomed and there are events for everybody. Adults can enjoy the beer, wine, and spirits garden that will be open the entire duration. For the kids, Kidz Zones are located at the main vendor area at Bicentennial Park and in the corner of North Fayetteville St. and Salisbury St.  The Kidz Zones contain bounce houses and different play areas. Live music will play at Bicentennial Park for everyone to enjoy. You can expect numerous food vendors, serving an incredible variety of foods. Barbecue, vegetables, and of course, turkey legs are all foods you can expect to return to the Fall Festival. Other things the Fall Festival will have includes street performers, food courts, and arts/crafts exhibits.

On top of that, the UCA’s favorite band, The Burnt Biscuits, will be performing.

A 10k Fall Festival run is scheduled for Saturday, October 5.  The race officially begins at 8 am, but registration begins at 6:45 am, or you can pre-register online. The run starts at Memorial Park, 898 S Church Street. You can register here, https://asheborocrs.recdesk.com/Community/Program?category=1.

Asheboro’s Fall Festival has seen tremendous growth over the years. Beginning in 1972, the Asheboro Fall Festival had a significantly smaller number of attendees and vendors, approximately 40 in 1972. Now, the Fall Festivals clocks in around 200 vendors with an exponentially larger number of attendees.

Previous attendees have voiced their excitement for the upcoming Fall Festival. After asking some previous attendees, both young and old, it seems the biggest attractions are undoubtedly the food vendors and the kickoff concert.
